International Council for Online Educational Standards (ICOES) is a Dutch Foundation established in 2013. It was created to meet the need for an independent quality assurance body to identify and separate good quality educational programs from those not meeting such standards. Its stated purpose is to improve and ensure the quality of online education institutes and their products.
ICOES has an independent board of management that ensures that the Foundation operates in accordance with its purpose. It has an Advisory Board consisting of independent professors who developed and implemented the Accreditation Standards, a quality charter that is used for the annual review of prospective and existing accredited course providers.
ICOES provides accreditation and quality certification to educational institutes and online educators seeking endorsement for their content. Through the provision of guidelines and feedback, ICOES ensures that all training content it endorses meets the highest educational standards to increase profile, credibility and trustworthiness.
ICOES also awards credible, verifiable certificates to online graduates looking to commemorate their hard work. These internationally recognised, statement-piece certificates increase and validate market value and act as a visible acknowledgment of achievement.
